How We Got Here
2019: Our founder’s journey began with something small — a stubborn strain in his middle finger
It seemed trivial at first, but the discomfort grew, centered on the proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint, the middle joint of the finger. Day by day, it became harder to ignore.
He tried everything he could think of, such as an ergonomic mouse, a nighttime brace, and countless little adjustments. Each attempt brought moments of hope, followed by disappointment. Nothing truly worked.
2025: Six years later, determined not to give up, he decided to look at the problem differently
He turned to range of motion (ROM) exercises, hoping movement might do what gadgets and supports could not.
As a competitive cyclist, he remembered the side-lying knee rotation that once saved his knee from overuse. He figured, what if the same principle could be applied to his finger?
He improvised, gently guiding his middle finger through a similar motion. The effect was immediate. The stiffness eased, the joint felt lighter, and for the first time in years, relief wasn’t just temporary; it felt real!
What started as a personal struggle became an unexpected discovery. Sometimes the simplest movements can unlock the most powerful healing.
Sept 2025: Inspired by this progress, we dove deeper into research on finger ROM routines
According to the Arthritis Foundation, incorporating simple finger range-of-motion exercises into your daily routine can significantly ease stiffness and pain from hand arthritis by improving mobility and reducing symptoms.
We experimented by combining multiple ROM finger exercises into a single motion, aiming to reduce strain when using a mouse — what we called the stirring motion.
As explained by Engelen Sports & Orthobiologics, led by Dr. Robert Engelen, DO, a gentle stirring or rolling motion of the fingers encourages fluid movement within the joints, helping relieve discomfort and supporting joint health.
Sept 2025: We decided to file multiple design and utility patent applications
We took an important step to protect our innovation. We filed multiple design patent applications and a utility patent application with global patent offices such as the US, UK, EU, China, Japan, Korea, Russia, Brazil, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, and more.
These filings ensure that the unique design and functionality of our rotary mouse are legally safeguarded before we surrender it to the public in 20 years’ time.
Oct 2025: Building on this insight, we developed our initial prototype for the rotary mouse.
Using self-taught 3D design and printing skills, we designed, developed, and tested countless 3D-printed (PLA and SLA) rotary mice, and finally found a winner.
Nov 2025: Completed our pre-production unit
The feedback for our initial prototype is overwhelmingly encouraging. More than 10 early testers praised the fast scrolling speed and the fact that they didn’t have to lift their fingers. Some found the new scrolling motion rejuvenating.
Dec 2025: Shipping out pre-production free samples for feedback and reviews
We’re seeking early adopters who are willing to test drive our EVT mouse units. We ship samples for free to the U.S and Canada in exchange for your valuable thoughts.
Mac 2026: Secured orders for pre-production units
When we began selling our Founder’s Editions online, we generated strong sales and received positive feedback.
May 2026: Launched a pop-up booth for live product demos
We set up a pop-up booth at DMC in Seoul for hands-on ‘test drives’ of the Rotary Mouse, resulting in positive feedback and encouraging sales.
