Disclosure: This early tester received a pre-release Rotary Mouse sample unit at no cost and provided their honest, independent feedback based on real-world use.
One of the biggest things with building the Rotary Mouse is actually getting it into the hands of actual users as soon as possible. We’re not just looking for feedback from some lab, we want real people using it in their actual daily lives – at home, at work, and beyond. Recently, we sent a pre-production unit to Jasmine Pang over in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, just to see what she thought. She works as an Accounts Executive and uses spreadsheets like Excel all the time. After trying out our mouse at her workplace, she filled out our feedback form on https://rotarymouse.com/feedback, and her answers were genuinely helpful.
It turns out that Jasmine’s currently using a basic Logitech mouse, and she doesn’t even have any issues with the scroll wheel. That was surprising for us because it means she wasn’t testing the Rotary Mouse to find a solution to her problem. She was just trying it out as this totally new thing, which is a whole different kind of test.
When we asked for her honest thoughts on the Rotary Mouse, she just said, “Interesting coz never used rotary mouse before.” We love that kind of no-filter response. It’s fascinating that the idea stands out right away, even if someone’s never seen a horizontal scroll wheel before. The novelty is definitely there, and that’s exactly what we wanted at this stage.

We also asked if the scroll wheel felt too tight, and she said no. That’s a good sign since we’re still tweaking that part before the final production version. It makes us feel like we’re on the right track, but obviously, we’ll keep listening to more testers to be sure. For pricing, Jasmine said she’d pay less than $30. That’s a useful little nugget for figuring out where this thing fits in people’s minds. Thus, this answer really helps us to plan ahead.
What we really love about Jasmine’s feedback is that she’s willing to recommend our mouse to her friends, family, or coworkers. That’s huge feedback for us because word of mouth is still one of the best ways to know if something’s actually worth making. Even though our rotary wheel concept is new, it didn’t discourage her from wanting to share this game-changing product we are trying to build with others.
However, she did suggest making it smaller and adding more color options. We’re already thinking about size and customization anyway, and some people like Jasmine might want a compact version for travel or smaller hands, and colors would make it feel more personal instead of just another boring gadget. Little things like that can make a big difference in real life.

What’s interesting about Jasmine’s test is that she didn’t even have scrolling problems to begin with, but she still found the Rotary Mouse interesting enough to recommend and even gave us practical ideas. We sent her a pre-production unit, so it wasn’t the final version, but getting this kind of structured feedback helps us improve step by step before we roll it out wider. Every tester, like Jasmine, shapes the mouse into something better and bigger than us. We’re still learning, and this is just the start!
