Disclosure: This early tester received a pre-release Rotary Mouse sample unit at no cost and provided their honest, independent feedback based on real-world use.
About a month back, we reached out to some individuals on Reddit who posted (or commented) on their experience in using a computer mouse. So, we spotted Michael on Reddit and decided to reach out, offering a free pre-production unit of our Rotary Mouse for some honest user testing before the big Kickstarter launch. We shipped it straight to his place in New Jersey, USA. Michael is a cloud engineer who spends most of his day doing browser-based work, so he was the perfect guy to really put the rotary scroll feature through its paces!
We have received his detailed feedback form, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Here are some highlights straight from Michael’s response.

He said he has no issues scrolling with his current mouse, but after trying ours, he thinks it’s really useful. “I think the rotary mouse is really useful. I’m a cloud engineer and do a lot of browser-based work, and the rotary mechanism genuinely helps me be more productive and faster. It feels seamless, and I expected a learning curve, but there really wasnt one. It does exactly what it’s trying to do, and it does it well.”
Michael owns tons of gaming mice (he listed like the Attack Shark X3, LAMZU Atlantis, Razer Viper V3 Pro, Pulsar Xlite V3, Endgame Gear and like 8 more!), but what he values most is shape and weight. Our mouse is a bit heavy, but he said the shape is actually very comfortable. The coating does feel slightly chalky compared to smoother matte coatings like Pulsar’s.
One suggestion he had was to consider a rechargeable version with USB-C instead of disposable batteries, as that would make the experience feel more modern and convenient. Additional colorways would also be a great touch, he said.
Overall, Michael is genuinely impressed and plans to use the Rotary Mouse every day for work. “The rotary mouse has made my workflow noticeably faster and more intuitive… It’s comfortable, well designed, and a great productivity tool that I now plan to use every day for work!” He also said he would totally tell his friends, colleagues, and family about it, and he’s willing to pay from $31 to $50.
This kind of real-world feedback from someone like Michael, who actually lives in the browser all day, makes us so thankful and excited for what’s coming. The rotary mechanism is hitting exactly the way we hoped – practical, intuitive, and not gimmicky at all.
